Have you ever gone a whole day without something to smile about? Or find you're too busy to notice the little things? Well, here it is: A smile for every day. A place where simple things are examined and happiness is found.

Portrait of an Artist
Meet Irene Kassner, age 84. Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, nurse by trade, artist by heart. I count myself truly lucky to be working with the woman every day.
In the still of morning, on a work day, I think of her.
Promise of warmth.
Promise of kettle boiling.
Promise of sun
breaking over the sea
and slipping up the table legs.
Promise of blossom.
Promise of bloom.
Promise of opening
your lips--
a kiss.
(a poem by my wife, Christina Marie Saulter)
